TODAY we recognize our earthly Father's and all that they do for us. I haven't always had the best relationship with my own Dad. But over the years things have gotten a lot better. But no matter how bad things got he always provided for our family and was always "there". I count it a great blessing to have grown up with both my parents present in my life and in my home.
Stephen is celebrating his 3rd Father's day today. His very first came on his 33rd birthday. How neat is that? (Landen was also 3 months on that day.) And next year he will be Father to 2 wonderful little boys. As a wife I always seem to expect more out of him....but he does love our family and is always there for us. He loves Landen more than any Daddy has ever loved a child and that blesses my heart. I thank God for these 2 Dads in my life and all that they have both brought into my life.......you take the good with the bad and the good will always out weigh the bad.
Now on to My Father...."You just mentioned him", you say....No.....I mean my Heavenly Father. My Abba Father...the Father of all Fathers. He has been with me from the VERY beginning and has never let me down. He is there when no one else is. He gave me the one gift no other Father could ever give his child....Salvation through his Son Jesus Christ! And for that I am TRULY thankful. Do I always show it..No....does that make Him love me less.....Not a chance!
Make sure you wish your earthly father a Happy Father's Day....and if your father is no longer present here on earth....make some other Father in your life feel special. And don't forget to thank your heavenly Father for all that he has done.
