My Surgery

Last July 18th I had what the doctors believed to be a gallbladder attack. I went to the ER that night and they did xrays and wanted me to come in at a later time for an ultrasound. Well, I never did make it in for the ultrasound. But seemed fine for over a year.

And then on about Thursday or Friday of last week I had another small attack. So I took 2 Zantac which is what they told me to take last year and took 2 small sips of milk. As soon as I drank the milk I "got sick" and started feeling better.

But then this past Wednesday I ate lunch around 12:30 pm (Roast Beef and veggies and PB&J) ..and around 2:00 pm that day I started hurting really bad. So I took another Zantac, but it didn't make me feel any better and I also "got sick" again and again with still no relief. So that night around 10:00 we went in to the ER and they gave me something for the nausea and pain. And told me that I would probably have to come back on Thursday for an ultrasound. But God was taking care of me as usual. The nurse came in and said that it was my lucky night..the tech was already there doing someone else and I was next! So after just a little while of waiting I went back and had the ultrasound which showed that I had a gallstone. So they admitted me and early Thursday afternoon the surgeon came in and talked to me about the risks of my surgery. And scheduled to remove my gallbladder sometime that evening.

Around 5:45pm the nurse came in and wheeled me down to the holding area where I waited for them to get the OR ready for me. They did my surgery around 6:15 pm. I woke up in my room where my hubby had been patiently waiting for me to come back from surgery.

I have been put a special low fat diet for the next 2 weeks. And I have to go back to see my surgeon in 10 to 14 days from the day of my surgery.

Now I am at home recovering. They made 4 small holes in my right abdomen. Thank God there was no need for a large incision!! But any sudden movement or even a deep breath nearly kills me! I came home yesterday evening. I AM really sore and it's kinda hard to get around. But the hardest part is not being able to care for my babies. And not being able to hold them. Little Brodie just cries for me to hold him and I just can't. And while I was in the hospital they were with my mom. So I didn't see them from Wednesday evening til when I got home yesterday. And I'm not one to leave my kids with anybody. So that was REALLY hard. It was the first time either of them had ever spent the night away from both of us.

Okay so the drugs I took a bit ago are kicking in. So I'm going to go lie down. Please pray that I have a speedy recovery.

And one more thing.....I want to thank my friends for being there for me and for praying for me. You guys are a truly a blessing from God! You know who you are!
